Description:

The Ayn Rand Institute sponsors annual essay contests that offer 600 prizes and $100,000 in prize money every year. Candidates select ONE of three topics and then write an essay in response to the questions about that topic. Essay must be no fewer than 800 and no more than 1,600 words in length and double-spaced.

Who Should Apply:

Entrant must be a 12th grader, undergraduate or graduate student.

Program Duration:

One year.

Number & Amount Available:

First prize is $10,000, 3 second prizes are worth $2000 and 5 third place prizes are worth $1000. There are also 25 finalists ($100) and 50 semi-finalists ($50).
